When Mail.ru Cloud starts running low on space, you don't have to immediately upgrade to a larger plan or start deleting photos. In most cases, the bulk of your storage is taken up by full-resolution originals, long videos, and duplicate files — all of which can be shrunk or safely sorted without losing anything important.
Compress Your Photos
Photos taken on modern smartphones can weigh several megabytes each. Medium compression typically reduces file size several times over with no perceptible difference when viewing on a phone or computer. For maximum compatibility, you can keep the JPG format; for the smallest file size, WebP is the better choice.
Reduce Video File Sizes
Video takes up the most storage space by far. Re-encoding to MP4 with the H.265 codec preserves the original resolution while significantly cutting file size. Video processing takes longer than photos, so it's best to handle large folders as separate batches.
Find Duplicate Files

Choose a Safe Saving Strategy
